Daily Grind

I am in a bit of a recovery week this week which is nice but I am not quite sure what to do when I have free time. Usually I time things down to the minute to fit in family, work, training, eating, and sleeping. Naps are the way I should spend my free time. After all that is when you really grow and let the training sink in, even if it doesn’t feel that way at times it’s true. Hard on the hard and easy on the easy, that’s the moto for great training. There have been times when I have biked so hard that I thought I may fall off my bike because I could hold myself up anymore. That’s hard to do and in some strange way actually fun but that’s only a small piece of the training puzzle. Now comes the easy! Sleep is the number one thing you can do for recovery. Yes there are many other helpful things like stretching, compression gear and ice baths but nothing beats more sleep. Well, I’m off to read some more of The Pursuit of Happines and take a nap before heading to the pool for 5k.
